The Elephant Cafe, Livingstone, Zambia.

The Elephant Cafe, Livingstone was awarded Zambia’s Best New Restaurant 2016 and is now rated as the number one restaurant in Zambia on Tripadvisor. The Cafe is a tented exclusive restaurant built on a wooden deck overlooking the Zambezi River, just a few kilometres upstream from Victoria Falls. Sitting only 24 people, this exclusive Livingstone restaurant is like nothing else in the country. The cafe grounds are home to a herd of hand-reared elephants, saved as orphans from poaching many years ago.

The River Safari

The Elephant Cafe, Livingstone, is a 25-minute boat ride upriver from the Victoria Falls. The boat transfer becomes a meandering river safari within minutes after setting off. You can see many species along the way including elephant, hippo, buffalo, giraffe, crocodile, zebra and a variety of antelope and bird life. This Victoria Falls restaurant sits in a place that is not only breathtaking, it is alive with the sights and sounds of the African bush.

Elephant Interaction

Once you arrive at the Cafe you will have the opportunity to interact with the resident elephants. These gentle giants, hand reared after being rescued from the ravages of poaching, are awe inspiring. The size of these magnificent beasts needs to be seen to be believed. When one of the large males eats from your hand, your heart can’t help but to skip a beat or two.

The Dining Experience
